Medicine Drum Making - Sunshine Coast

Join us on a journey to create your very own Medicine Drum!

​

In this a 3 day Workshop we will go on a journey to create your own Healing Medicine drum and learn the foundation essentials of working with your drum.  It includes accomodation for 2 nights as well as dinners.

Over the weekend, you will craft a sacred instrument through ceremony and intention.  You will connect with the tree and animal spirits that have contributed to your creation.  You will weave your drum and craft your beater.  You will awaken your drum through sacred ceremony.  

With the extra day available, we will be able to cover the Essential foundation Drum lore, exploring drum care,  how to use our drums to ground, connect, for sound healing, journeying and sacred song circle.

This workshop is also a live-in workshop which means you get to full immerse yourself into the experience with song circles around the fire, and sound healing evenings.

This is a unique workshop in that:

• You will craft a truely Unique drum and beater.
• Journey through the process with Intention and Ceremony
• Learn the foundations of Drum Lore
• Understand how to get the best sound out of your drum
• Learn to give a Drum Sound Balance
• Learn different drum beats and how to drum and sing
• Learn Sacred Songs
• Learn the basics of Shamanic Drum Journeys 
• Song circles and sound healing evenings.

• Evening meals

All Materials are supplied for a 16" Willow or Ash drum, with Kangaroo hide.

There is also a choice for a 16" Red Oak or Rosewood hoop for an extra $50.

All beater materials and ceremonial cleansing herbs are included in the price.

Friday 9:00am - Sunday 3:00pm

A yummy organic Dinners and Morning and Afternoon Tea provided.  If you have any allergies or food intolerences, please make sure to list them when registering.  There are kitchenettes and a fridge in each cabin to make your own breakfasts and lunches.

Making your own drum is not a quick process, in order to create a Sacred Instrument we are required as the drum maker to give of our energy and time just as the tree and animal have given of themselves.  We start at 9am, and try to be finished by 5:00.  We have a maximum of 10 participants to ensure that everyone receives the support they need in creating their Medicine Drum.  In some cases groups may be larger if a second facilitator is available.  Please also note that drum making can be quite physical, and as such may not be suitable for people with certain disabilities or physical challenges.  If you are unsure, please contact me first to discuss your situation.

We do hold drum journeys as part of the workshop.  If you have never journeyed before, don't worry we walk you through it.

​

An important part of the process is the Awakening Ceremony.  This is done to awaken and breath life into your drum, so that your drum will be ready to journey and work with you on your Earth Walk.

At the end of the workshop, you will leave with a beautiful drum and beater ready to embark on your journey together.

Afterpay - $895 + $54.03 (afterpay fees) - Please select appropriate ticket for this option.

Afterpay is a great option if you need to break down your payments into smaller amounts.  It does however come with some fees, which will be added to your ticket.  If you want to use this option, please make sure to select the Afterpay ticket option.  If for some reason you select the wrong ticket option, I will send you a seperate invoice for the fees.

Due to afterpay option, I no longer offer payment plans, as there is just too much admin for 1 person.

We need a minimum number of people to run the course.  If minimum numbers are not met we may not be able to run the workshop.  In this case your money will be refunded in full.

Cancellations 30 days before workshop will receive a full refund minus any payment processing fees.

Cancellations 30 - 15 days will receive a refund minus their deposit and processing fees.

Cancellations made 14days or less before the workshop will NOT receive a refund.  Full Payment will be required.

Please note that I run smaller workshops to ensure you leave with a quality drum and experience.  I also often travel long distances to facilitate workshops.  Cancelling last minute means that I may not be able to run the workshop and will forfeit my hire charge etc.  If you find yourself in this situation please talk to me and I will do our best to help or transfer your funds to the next available workshop.
